Origin Coffee Roasters commissioned Collective Studio to help them create a new workplace within their brand new, purpose-built roastery in Helston. In their own words, and we’re inclined to agree with them, Origin are a group of ridiculously passionate and enthusiastic bods who strive to raise the coffee standards throughout the country by sharing their collective wealth of knowledge with those who love coffee.
The brief for us was to create a collection of spaces that would help them do this - we created a backdrop which they could build on as the company settles in to their new home.
Our approach reflects an understanding that design must support the operations of the business but also bring to life a visual identity that reflects the product offer and the company’s passion for their work. Origin Coffee has a strong brand graphically and our aim was to reflect this in the physical space.
The workspace consists of a training room, cupping area, meeting room, engineering room, open plan office and a staff area. The training room provides a flexible set up for Origin to invite their customers into and share both a passion for their products and the technical skills needed to craft the perfect espresso!

The design has an energetic look and feel, mixing raw materials with graphic use of block colour. Bespoke furniture was designed to make the best use of space mixed in with reclaimed furniture and lighting.
