Client: Fifteen Cornwall restaurant design
Project overview: from concept design to detail design scheme
(for Absolute Design, 2005)
Further to work on the Hotel at Watergate Anna’s design skills were added to the wider design team for interior design of Fifteen Cornwall from the out-set. Anna produced an interior design scheme that helped to secure Watergate Bay as the home for the Fifteen Cornwall. The design concept was then developed to give the urban brand a distinctive coastal feel.
Key features include a lighting installation of over 70 drop pendant lights; evocative of buoys floating in the sea they are suspended in the A-frame of the structure spanning the restaurant. Urban style graffiti was given a new interpretation by local illustrators A-Side Studio and adorns the frontage of the open kitchen; beaten up security shutters give privacy to the ‘garage’ private dining room and bespoke furniture was designed to provide showcasing of cookbooks and food products.
With dramatic views of the ocean in one direction and the theatrics of the kitchen in the other the space was planned to ensure that there was a view in every direction; including creating stepped levels to ensure no-one spoiled the jaw-dropping sunsets!
